In an intense La Liga match between FC Barcelona and Real Sociedad, Lionel Messi proved once again why he is considered as one of the greatest football players of all time. The Argentinian was played through on goal by Frenkie de Jong and he coolly finished past Remiro to make it 2-1. Real Sociedad tried to respond quickly but they were caught on the counter-attack as Messi scored again in the 62nd minute. Messi was played in by Sergi Roberto, and he chipped the ball over Remiro to complete his hat-trick and give Barcelona a two-goal lead. Real Sociedad did manage to pull one back in the 77th minute when Mikel Oyarzabal scored from a penalty, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Barcelona from winning the match.

Barcelona sealed the victory in injury time when Ousmane Dembélé scored a fantastic goal from outside the box to make it 4-2. The win puts Barcelona in second place in the La Liga table, five points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid.
