Introduction Cricket has always been an immensely popular sport with fans from around the world, and with the advent of modern technology, it is now easier than ever before to keep up with the latest news and events in the cricketing world. Websites, social media platforms and online news agencies are just a few of the ways that fans can stay up-to-date with the latest scores, player statistics, and team news. However, with so much information available, it can be difficult to know which sources are reliable, and which ones aren’t.

Additionally, the sheer quantity of information available can be overwhelming, and so it’s important to understand how fans use online cricket news and what impact it has on their enjoyment of the sport. Methodology To investigate this issue, we conducted a survey of 500 cricket fans from the UK and India. We asked them a series of questions about how they consume online cricket news, what sources they trust, and how often they access this information.

The survey also included questions about how the fans felt the online news had impacted their enjoyment of the sport and whether it had changed their behaviour as fans.
